Vice President ’s own admission reveals a clear violation of the MOU: they signed it to “build up our stocks” and “we want to play more games” with Iran and “have more cards to play” when the 60 days are up.
The MoU requires the parties “to enter into negotiations with a view to arriving at an agreement,” to “conduct themselves so that the negotiations are meaningful,” and to abstain from conduct that would deprive the negotiation of its object and purpose.
Article 3 — “commit to negotiating and achieving the final Deal” — and the “status quo” guarantee of Article 9 are precisely such obligations.
By expressly committing to “achieving the final Deal,” Article 3 demands good-faith efforts directed at a concrete outcome, not strategic delay or leverage-building tactics.
Yet somehow, Iran is the one being portrayed as the party that cannot be trusted!
