Mainstream media are obsessing over Iran's attacks on US bases in the Gulf states. "Iran has shot itself in the foot," they cry. Now, the Gulf states will take up arms against Iran.
No, Iran hasn't shot itself in the foot. Iran simply isn't fighting the war US and Israel want it to fight. Iran is inflicting pain on the aggressors. Iran is forcing a major re-evaluation of security in the Middle East and elsewhere. US security guarantees have proved to be worthless. And now the Gulf states are being forced to join a war that they have neither the means nor the will to fight.
