Information space in the 21st century is as essential to control and protect as a nation's airspace, shores, and land borders.
any nation at this point in the 21st century not looking to create a secure, domestic Internet - overlooking dozens of nations the US has completely destroyed or captured because of its uncontested control over global information space - might as well cut their military budget to zero.
Literally nothing else matters - not missiles, tanks, planes, or ships - if you can't secure your information space.
Information space in the 21st century is as essential to control and protect as a nation's airspace, shores, and land borders.
If a nation isn't protecting its information space, especially by first ENTIRELY eliminating US-based social media control over it - THEY ARE NOT DEFENDING THEIR NATION AT ALL.
Russia and China - who have already secured their information space - are positioned to export the means of defending information space elsewhere in the same manner they export actual weapons to defend traditional domains of national security (air, land, sea).
By the way, the Guardian article cited below is literally titled, "An ecosystem of smuggled tech holds Iran’s last link to the outside world," an admission the opposition is US-backed, equipped, and armed to overthrow Iran - fully justifying ANY MEASURES Iran takes against this foreign-backed treason - including rebuilding its internet to entirely eliminate the threat of foreign influence and control.
