The Monstrous Israeli delegation screamed at children's drawings at the United Nations. They demanded the removal of these artworks. They labeled them "antisemitic."
The children drew peace. The children drew Palestine. The children drew the world they wish to see.
And the Israeli delegation those who bomb schools in Gaza, those who kill 17,000 children, those who turn hospitals into rubble were terrified by these drawings.
They do not fear "antisemitism." They fear the truth. They fear the eyes of children. They fear that a single drawing can achieve what they cannot stop with bombs and blockades: making the world see Palestine.
What do they fear?
They fear an olive tree drawn by a child. They fear a key drawn by a child, the key to a home stolen by Israel. They fear a sun drawn by a child, because that sun shines upon Gaza, not upon "Israeli territory."
They fear a tent drawn by a child, for inside that tent live families they have displaced. They fear a moon drawn by a child, for that moon shines upon the two million people they have besieged.
They fear the imagination of a child. Because a child's imagination has not been censored by an occupying army.
What did they do?
They demanded the removal of these drawings. They labeled them "antisemitic." They demanded that the United Nations an organization whose resolutions they violate daily protect them from the harm of children's art.
In other words: They can bomb Gaza. They can starve Gaza. They can kill the children of Gaza. But you cannot hang drawings made by the children of Gaza on the walls of the United Nations.
Because those drawings speak. Bombs do not.
True Antisemitism
True antisemitism is not a child drawing Palestine.
True antisemitism is claiming to represent the Jewish people while using their name to bomb hospitals, kill children, and besiege civilians. True antisemitism is equating criticism of the Israeli government with hatred of Jewish people in order to silence everyone.
True antisemitism is causing the world to associate Jewish people with genocide, and then claiming that this is the "Jewish state."
The Israeli delegation is not protecting Jewish people; they are exploiting them. They are pinning the name of the Jewish people onto the corpses of Palestinian children.
Children's Drawings
For the children are drawing a future, while Israel is drawing graves.
