🇮🇷 Six months of bombing has taught Iran the same thing the last fifty years taught everyone else Nonproliferation rests on a bargain that has quietly stopped clearing. Give up the program and you get security guarantees. Gaddafi took that deal in 2003, surrendered centrifuges bought from A.Q. Khan's catalogue, and died at the hands of a rabid mob eight years later. Ukraine handed back its warheads in 1994 and lost a fifth of its territory. North Korea kept its bomb and gets summit invitations. Meanwhile the supply side has never once been closed. Fuchs gave Moscow the design. France built Dimona. Khan copied Dutch blueprints, sold to three countries through Malaysia, Turkey and Dubai, then confessed on television and was pardoned the same week. Roughly 440 kg of Iranian uranium at 60 percent has been unaccounted for since last June, and the strikes have made the case for finishing the job louder inside Tehran than any argument the hardliners could have written themselves.
