CBP detained him after he landed in the US and confiscated his devices. Max obtained legal representation from @JeninYounesEsq
 of ADC who filed a lawsuit against DHS for unlawful actions. Shortly after the lawsuit was filed, CBP quickly returned his devices, hoping Max would drop the lawsuit. He didn’t and the judge ruled CBP has to produce evidence showing what they did with the devices, what information they extracted, communication showing justification for the confiscation etc. In short, who told you to do this and why and what did CBP retain.
