Start with who was in the room before September 11th.

The Project for the New American Century. A think tank. Founded in 1997. Populated by men who would become, within four years, the Vice President, the Secretary of Defense, the Deputy Secretary of Defense, and the architects of the invasion.

They had written explicitly that regime change in Iraq was necessary, that American military dominance needed to be expanded, and that American global leadership preserved.

They had written, explicitly, in 2000, that this process would likely be slow "absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor."

A year later, they got their catastrophic event.

And the policy they had already written was ready.

This is not conspiracy.

The documents are public.

The names are public.

The positions they held are public.

The war they started is on the historical record.

This is what the network looks like when the node gets what it needs and the whole machine leans in.
