An Israeli minister seized the UNRWA office in Jerusalem at the request of the Israeli Prime Minister.
This violates Article 52 of Additional Protocol (I) Geneva Conventions and the UN Charter, which stipulates that “The property and assets of the UN, wherever located shall be immune…” Another violation of international law being broadcast live. Israel cannot continue to be treated as a full member of the UN.
In 2024, an international investigation revealed that Israel possessed no evidence linking the agency's staff to Hamas or showing their participation in the events of October 7.
UNRWA is not just any agency; Israeli efforts to dismantle UNRWA are politically motivated to eliminate the refugee issue and undermine the right of return.
