BREAKING: The Wall Street Journal reports that the Trump administration's own poorly worded Paragraph 5 is tearing the U.S.-Iran deal apart — handing Tehran a leading role in managing the Strait of Hormuz that Washington and its allies are now deeply uncomfortable with. The clause, which instructs Iran to "make arrangements" for safe passage and work with Oman on future administration, has become the central battleground of the dispute. The U.S. and Gulf states interpret it as requiring free passage. Iran says it gives them the right to manage the Strait as a whole. "Neither is lying," the WSJ notes. "The lie was claiming there was agreement in the first place."
