It's absolutely shameful to see the ongoing campaign to try and strip the national treasure that is Miriam Margolyes of her OBE.
All this courageous woman has done is speak her mind.
As an 83-year-old Jewish woman, she has spoken out with immense pain and compassion about the ongoing horrors in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire to stop the killing of innocent women and children.Yet, like clockwork, the moment anyone dares to criticise the actions of the Israeli government, there is an immediate, coordinated attempt to have them cancelled, vilified, and stripped of their honours.
This weaponisation of outrage to silence legitimate political dissent has got to stop.
Miriam Margolyes has spent her life being fiercely honest, compassionate, and independent.
Trying to punish a Jewish elder or anyone else for giving a damn about human rights isn’t just wrong, it’s a pathetic attempt to shut down free speech.
Stand with Miriam.
