The mayor of Rmeish, a predominantly Christian village in southern Lebanon, dismissed Benjamin Netanyahu's claim that Christian communities had asked to join "Israel".
He stressed that "the mere thought of such a thing is absolutely out of the question," rejecting the allegation outright.
Netanyahu had claimed that some "Christian villages" sought Israeli protection from the Resistance and requested annexation, but did not identify any specific communities, during an interview on Fox News.'
