Israel's Foreign Policy Forum, Israeli former ambassadors, are warning "of the serious international, political, legal, and economic implications of the government's decision to not comply with the Supreme Court ruling. The practical significance of the decision is a serious violation of the rule of law and the separation of powers, which is the cornerstone of democracy. Israel's continued distancing from the family of democratic states will affect the economy and each of its citizens. The decision also empties of all meaning Israel's claims before international law bodies that its judicial system is independent… we call on the Prime Minister, who is certainly aware of the implications of the decision, to act to officially revoke it, and to publicly announce that Israel is a state of law and will respect the court's decisions and rulings."
