ISRAELI TECH FIRM INTERFERES IN ELECTIONS ACROSS THREE CONTINENTS
France’s cybersecurity agency uncovered a foreign-led interference network orchestrated by the Isr*eli tech firm BlackCore, with investigations concluding that the company conducted digital manipulation campaigns across three continents, targeting elections in France, New York and Scotland, while also operating in Angola and Togo.
Months earlier, French newspaper Le Monde uncovered foreign digital interference schemes ahead of local elections in France, with pro-Palestine mayoral candidates subjected to smear campaigns.
In Scotland between January and May, BlackCore deployed at least 256 proxy accounts on X to saturate the digital space with roughly 1,400 coordinated comments. This operation specifically focused on First Minister John Swinney (targeted 652 times), the Scottish National Party and the Scottish government. They are vocal critics of the Isr*eli g*nocide in G*za and voted to withhold state support for arms firms supplying Isr*el.
In New York, the firm’s reach extended to the 2025 mayoral election, which Zohran Mamdani won. And its activities in Angola and Togo underscore a global pattern of information warfare.
BlackCore, which markets itself as an "elite influence" agency for "modern information warfare", utilised fake websites and vast networks of inauthentic accounts to shape political narratives. The firm abruptly scrubbed its online presence following the French investigation.
But while French officials traced the technical fingerprints to BlackCore, they were unable to identify the sponsors behind these commissions.
This scandal draws attention to the Isr*eli role in subverting democratic processes across the world, and the silencing of those who stand against injustice on the global stage.
