This rhetoric about Iran not having “paid a big enough price” reveals the United States’ true nature and intentions. 

Any government acting in good faith would thoroughly examine the proposal. It would then either accept it as a memorandum of understanding and begin negotiating the details, or offer constructive amendments until a final agreement is reached. 

The Trump administration, however, is not seeking to resolve the conflict. That is why it continues to shift the goalposts and use even diplomacy as yet another tool to escalate hostility.
