NETANYAHU: "Major, I want you to know that in Iran, they name streets after me. Do you know that? They call me ‘Bibi Joon’’—‘Beloved Bibi’.”
WOW-level delusional. Netanyahu on 60 Minutes, last night.
MAJOR GARRETT: “In my career, since the ‘90s in Washington, it was an established fact that both parties were favourable to Israel. That’s not true anymore.”
NETANYAHU: “Antisemitism has come back. It’s an interesting question of why this happens. There’s a natural human tendency between people—between peoples, collective groups—it’s called jealousy... especially if it's a very successful and strong country.”
MAJOR GARRETT: "So these are the embers of envy."
NETANYAHU: "I think it's part of it ... there are many explanations for the phenomenon and the durability of antisemitism."
MAJOR GARRETT: "Is it your belief, that Israel, tactically or strategically, has made no mistakes in Gaza or the West Bank that contributed to this negative impression of Israel?"
NETANYAHU: No, of course not... We seek to minimize civilian casualties as no other army has done in history—no other army. It's part of our value. It's part of our convictions. It's part of our training. It's what we impart to our soldiers. It pains me to see that Israel that goes to these lengths and is vilified ... We've not done well on the propaganda war. We have to fight back against these lies with the only weapon we have—the truth. We've left that battlefield to our enemies, and they lie all the time."
And later, in response Garret's assertion that "there is an impression" about Netanyahu that he has a "hunger for conflict".
NETANYAHU: "Major, I want you to know that in Iran, they name streets after me. Do you know that? They call me ‘Bibi Joon’’—‘Beloved Bibi’.”
