AJAMU BARAKA: HOW THE US GLOBALISED FASCISM
For a not-insignificant fraction of his base, Donald Trump's disastrous and unprovoked war on Iran represents a betrayal of his 'America First' platform. According to their 'isolationist' logic, a war nakedly fought for Israel's regional interests can only detract from the core MAGA program: hemispheric domination and domestic racial purification.
In a wide-ranging interview with Radhika Desai of the Geopolitical Economy Research Group, Ajamu Baraka of Black Alliance for Peace argues that Trump's domestic and international agendas are not just fully compatible, but inseparable. To contain the menacing racialised other abroad, the US must do so at home, and vice versa.
Together, the two faces of Trumpism constitute an unrestrained assertion of fascism at a global scale. And only at that scale can it be defeated. That's why Black Alliance for Peace is spearheading the 'Move the Games' campaign to strip the US of hosting rights for the 2026 World Cup. Because that mega-event sits at the nexus of US-Israeli genocide, ICE's domestic terrorism, Trump's personal corruption, and the machinations of the global Epstein class.
