the President handed leverage to Tehran over the Strait by the foolish decision to choose war.

President Trump seems unaware that the IRGC openly declared, immediately after the Israeli's blew Trump's ceasefire deal by attacking into Lebanon in direct violation of the deal his own Administration negotiated thru Pakistan, that they would continue to control traffic thru the Strait.
Making stmts like this only diminishes him further in Iran's eyes, the eyes of our friends and allies, and makes it *more* likely Iran will not give in to his demands.
The reason the Strait was closed to traffic associated with the US/Israel/Arab countries is because of the war we chose to start, and the reason it has STAYED closed is because we don't have the military power to compel Iran to open it. That's still the case today, with or without a ceasefire.
Like it or not, the President handed leverage to Tehran over the Strait by the foolish decision to choose war. He cannot now withdraw said leverage by complaining about it on Truth Social. That may work on his domestic enemies, but it will only get him mocked by Iran.
We better make a deal, very soon, or the price of oil, the price (and quantity) of fertilizer feedstocks, and even the price and availability of high tech chips in Asia will all spiral out of control, and nothing will be affordable; taken far enough, in the medium term there may not be enough food produced to feed the planet.
There are serious consequences to believing your own press about how powerful we are...
