The timing and sequence of events described here is just too perfect. As soon as there's a slight chance of deescalation, the US and Israel immediately play two of their biggest escalatory cards, hitting desalination and oil infrastructure in Iran, ensuring the Iranians must respond in kind and destroying any chance of a wind down.
