I want you to all witness something specific this moment in America.
As armed US forces carry out state-sponsored violence, the people are not accepting it. They are calling to fight back, recognizing very well that fighting back comes with risk- as high as being killed. Still, they are calling for confrontation.
I say this to remind everyone that when abuse and violence is enacted on us- Palestinians- systemically, consistently, and relentlessly by Israel with US weapons, the world orders us to endure it, and to “co-exist” with this violence, and went as far to suggest that we should negotiate with Israeli serial killers-- who proudly flaunted their mass slaughter to the world as a show of force.
Do you perhaps understand a little more how absurd these demands were? To ask a people to accept and negotiate with brute violence which is willing to detain children, and either murder or torture people.
Do you perhaps understand a little more how abusive of a demand you pushed on us?
Now that there is a point of reference closer to home, can you for a moment, just a moment, recognize what you were ordering us to do?
