This is such an incriminating number: 50% of the 311 journalists killed by Israel were killed at home, often with their families.

Which of course means they were undoubtedly deliberately targeted (src: open.substack.com/pub/nofrontier) From the same "side" that constantly lectures about "freedom of the press" and "free speech"...

CHINESE SCHOLARS WROTE more ultra-high-citation science papers than the rest of the world put together, a new study shows. Just over 53 per cent of academic papers in the top category came from China, said a statistical report released on 30 October. Researchers counted works published within the last two years that received enough citations to place them within the top 0.1 percent of their academic field. China had 2,342 papers in that “hottest” category, while the United States followed with 1,511. . U.S. TOP IN BROADER CATEGORY But in the broader category of publications that listed in the top one per cent of citations, China was still slightly behind the US, said the study by the Institute of Scientific and Technical Information of China. Yet the gap between the two is tiny – just 11 publications. China had 76,271 highly cited papers, putting it in second place with 37.41 percent of the world's total, Xinhua reported. “The gap with the United States, which holds the top position, has now narrowed to just 11 papers,” it added. Yet perhaps the most remarkable factor about the findings is how dominant the two big players are, with little space in the charts remaining for Europe, which was far ahead of the rest of the world in scientific research in the previous century.

Trump met Xi Jinping and immediately cut tariffs and paused the trade war after bellicose rhetoric all year. Why?

🇺🇸🇨🇳Trump met Xi Jinping and immediately cut tariffs and paused the trade war after bellicose rhetoric all year. Why? In September, China’s exports grew by 8.3%, the fastest pace in months. Shipments to the US fell by 27%. Exports to the EU rose more than 14%, exports to ASEAN nations were up by almost 16%, and exports to Africa rose by 56%. Direct shipments to the US now make up barely 10% of China’s total exports. While the US economy chugs along with black smoke rising from the engine, China’s economy goes on unhindered. The threat of protectionist measures on China’s rare earth minerals and metals made the US quickly come back down to reality. The world doesn’t need the US as much as it did during the height of the unipolar moment. China doesn’t depend on the US economy as much either. The world is irreversibly changing, despite the US’ hyper-militarism and war on multipolar, at a certain point, reality had to be acknowledged…which is exactly what happened at the Trump-Xi meeting. Chinese patience beats US bluster.
