an algorithm can only manipulate you if you are isolated.

CNN is trying to solve the "mystery" of how Lula won. Their big conclusion? He just had a really good social media marketing strategy. They call it a "coordinated campaign" to reclaim national symbols. Let’s be real for a second. This had absolutely nothing to do with clever marketing. It was about class. For years, the traditional "compatible left" forgot how to talk about it. When the economy got tough, they pointed downward—blaming the poor, managing the decline, and asking regular people to just accept the misery. Lula did the exact opposite. He pointed upward. He named the landlords, the agro-oligarchs, and the financial speculators who were actually hoarding the country's wealth and making the working class suffer. He didn't sell them a brand; he validated their struggle. But let’s play along with CNN's theory for a second and look at the other side of that digital battlefield. If elections were really just about who has the best digital reach and algorithmic manipulation, the oligarchs would win every single time. The far-right didn’t just have a campaign; they had the actual infrastructure of Silicon Valley. For years, they relied on algorithmic bias, millions in dark money, and massive troll farms. We even know Meta was caught internally censoring left-wing accounts while boosting the right. They literally had the tech billionaires on their side. So why did their massive digital machine completely break down in the final three weeks? Because an algorithm can only manipulate you if you are isolated. Lula’s message of pointing upward gave the working class a shared target. They stopped being isolated. They took the real, physical conversations happening in the favelas, the bus stops, and the small towns, and synchronized them online. They built a digital mirror of their actual solidarity. The tech monopolies built these platforms to keep us angry, divided, and staring at our screens alone. But when millions of people suddenly realize they are all suffering from the exact same rigged system, the algorithm stops working. The dark money can't buy its way out of a unified working class. You can buy the algorithms. You can fund the troll farms. But the entire techno-feudal machine breaks down the second the working class remembers who the real enemy is, and starts talking to its neighbors. x.com/CNN/status/211
