Hanoch Milwidsky, a Likud member of Israel’s Knesset, openly argued that Israel is not bound by the same laws as other nations, invoking a supposed divine calling and Jewish “distinctiveness” to justify exceptional treatment.
He dismissed the considerations of international diplomats and called for Israel to remain guided by its religious “sources” rather than what he described as “foreign things.”
