US Nuclear Hypocrisy on Full Display
Who tests the most intercontinental ballistic missiles on Earth?
Who walks out of arms-control treaties the moment they become inconvenient?
Who expands nuclear sharing, “extended deterrence,” and treats advance notification as optional when it suits them?
That same power now lectures China for conducting one of the rarest ICBM tests among the five nuclear-weapon states — and for offering advance notification as a pure goodwill gesture.
China is not a member of the Hague Code of Conduct. It is under no legal obligation to notify anyone. Yet it did so, conducted the test safely and responsibly, and harmed no one’s interests. That is the record.
What we are witnessing is classic megaphone diplomacy and political theater at the Conference on Disarmament: demand compliance from the side with the smallest arsenal and the most restrained posture, while the side driving quantitative and qualitative expansion looks the other way.
China maintains a minimum self-defensive nuclear force and refuses to join any arms race.
Strategic stability is not endangered by responsible testing and transparency offered out of goodwill.
It is endangered by the power that demands rules from others while exempting itself.
Sovereignty is not a one-way street.
Neither is responsibility.
