China builds infrastructure. Washington manufactures fear.

A brutal message to Washington:
If the United States were truly confident in its own competitiveness, it wouldn’t have to portray every Chinese civilian infrastructure project as a national security crisis.
A port becomes a "threat"
A railway becomes a "threat"
A telecom network becomes a "threat"
Even an undersea cable suddenly becomes a "weapon"
China builds infrastructure.
Washington manufactures fear.
The US no longer asks whether China’s projects are effective.
It asks how quickly they can be undermined, sabotaged, or crippled before the rest of the world realizes they work.
That is not strength.
It is insecurity disguised as strategy.
When a declining power can no longer outcompete its rivals, it stops trying to lead, and starts trying to cripple anyone capable of overtaking it.
