Almost All US Federal Agencies Are Using Cellebrite, An Israeli Spy Tool
According to reports, the Israeli spy tool is used in approximately 93% of U.S. federal agencies across most States, in addition to this 14 of the 15 U.S. Cabinet Executive Departments use it.
The technology is used to hack phones and at data extraction, which has been used to target human rights activists and journalists alike. What this means is that law enforcement or intelligence agencies can use the Israeli firm’s technology to get past phone passwords & locked screens, enabling them to get hold of users personal information without consent.
No thought was given to American security concerns when adopting it for thousands of local municipal police departments and county sheriffs across nearly all 50 states, with DOJ & DHS also using it.
