They are deploying scandalous tools: disproportionate cancellations of conferences and demonstrations, police raids on activists and associations, and the distortion of anti-terrorism laws to repress Palestine solidarity. All of these tools are indeed fracturing something between public opinion and political leaders.
For me, this is symptomatic of the moral and political panic our governments find themselves in today. Censorship is truly the last resort of those who have already lost [the argument], when they are no longer even capable of engaging with ideas or political debate."
