People in capitalist countries must not be allowed to use cheap AI. It would be unfair to Wall Street valuations.

Translation: People in capitalist countries must not be allowed to use cheap AI. It would be unfair to Wall Street valuations. OpenAI and Anthropic built AI as a gated cathedral: expensive, closed, controlled, rented, and monetized. Then Chinese models arrived cheaper, open-weight, practical, and increasingly powerful. Suddenly “affordable intelligence” became a dystopian future. Very funny. When AI is expensive, it is innovation. When AI becomes cheap, it is a security risk. When China makes it accessible, Silicon Valley calls the police. The only thing “unsafe” here is Silicon Valley losing its monopoly over intelligence.

OpenAI and Anthropic executives are sounding the alarm about the rise of cheap AI, particularly powerful new models produced in China, suggesting they will lead to a “dystopian” AI future and present unacceptable security risks without regulation. on.wsj.com/4ft5XBt
