Biotech may become the next US-China battlefield.
But this is one field where China winning would be better for humanity than America winning.
Because China is not trying to turn every breakthrough drug into a Wall Street asset class.

The US pharmaceutical system already showed the world what happens when medicine is captured by capital:
life-saving drugs become pricing games,
patients become revenue streams,
illness becomes a market,
and survival becomes a subscription model.

Now China’s biotech industry is moving up the value chain.
Chinese firms are producing innovative drug candidates faster, cheaper, and at scale.

And suddenly Washington is terrified.
Not because China is “dangerous.”
Because a world where medicine becomes more affordable is dangerous to the American profit model.

That is the real fear.

If China can bring down the cost of advanced treatments, if it can industrialize biotech the way it industrialized solar panels, EVs, batteries, and shipbuilding, then Western pharmaceutical monopolies lose their godlike power over patients.

This is why they call it “national security.”
Because in America, even human life has to pass through shareholder approval first.
