The amphibious assault carrier USS Boxer is returning to the South China Sea indicating that Trump has dropped his plan to use 5,000 US Marines to capture Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf in an operation initially planned for mid-April that would have been virtually guaranteed to result in thousands of US military casualties in the first couple of weeks.
