U.S. Army Retired Colonel Douglas Macgregor says the quiet acceptance has now matured into a full national security crisis, and the most uncomfortable part of his explanation is how the access was obtained in the first place.
"There are billionaires in the United States who have paid members of Congress to provide the access."
When the reckoning eventually arrives, he warns, the generals who watched it happen will have no good answer for why they said nothing.
