Iran is calling the shots, and they are loudly signaling to the United States that President Trump and his threats not only do not produce capitulation from the Iranians, it has an opposite effect, in that they will exact a price on President Trump for such emotional outbursts and threats.

Iran still has motivation to end this war, but they sent a very clear signal today with their actions, that they are not in a hurry, and will be very firm on their negotiating positions.

Unfortunately for the US, delays and getting this war resolved only move us further down the road towards economic hardship. Time is definitely not on our side, and sooner or later we’re going to have to concede to these ugly terms, or we will find ourselves back in an active combat zone, and likely headed towards an economic depression.

The stakes are that high.
