Fmr. CIA analyst Larry Johnson weighs in on the fear hanging over this weekend's funeral, that Israel might try to assassinate Mojtaba Khamenei during what would likely be his first public appearance.

His warning leaves no wiggle room:

"If Israel dared, even tried to assassinate him, that would unleash, there would be no holding Iran back at that point. Iran would then destroy Israel."

Larry says Tehran has the missile technology to follow through, and an attempt would bleed Israel dry.

The deeper consequence is political.

Inside Iran, hardliners have long argued the country won't be safe until Israel is gone, while others pushed for accommodation.

A strike at the funeral, he says, would end that debate for good and make destroying Israel the objective.
