Former CIA analyst Larry Johnson says the pressure campaign has backfired badly, with Iran now allegedly threatening a demonstration nuclear test and preparing to exit the nonproliferation treaty entirely. 

If true, it's the opposite of everything the war was meant to accomplish.

He also waves off the leaks about a CIA plan to install Ahmadinejad as psychological warfare meant to divide Iran internally, though other analysts have treated those reports as more credible.
