One group has a ‘right to self determination’, sovereignty from the river to the sea, the other has to clear out to enable the fulfilment of those aspirations. You cant create a majority Jewish state in the middle of the Arab world, to which every Jewish person in the world is invited, unless you make room for them. Israel has struggled with the inconvenience of Arab existence. The Zionist path was inevitable - there was no other way to engineer demographic change of this dimension. And the truth of it is Christians have to clear out too - from the birthplace of Christianity.
UNGA consists of 193 member states. In 1947, it was 58, because a very large number of countries that were still colonies were unable to participate only the few in the process of decolonisation at the time. In the vote for UN Res 181 to partition Palestine to create a Jewish state, 33 voted in favour, 13 against and 10 abstained.
