I have repeatedly said that the way to understand Vladimir PUTIN is to remember that he is a lawyer. What happened during yesterday's call was that PUTIN gave TRUMP a CEASE AND DESIST demand. The Kremlin's wording could not be more clear
"if the United States and Israel resume military action, this would inevitably lead to extremely adverse consequences not only for Iran and its neighbours, but for the entire international community...... a ground operation on Iranian territory would be particularly unacceptable and dangerous."
Classic lawyer's language, backed by the implicit threat provided by Russia's continued support for Iran.
For the moment it looks as if Trump is heeding the demand which is why the call in all other respects went well. All discussed in this video
