The 2011 Report of the Secretary-General’s Palmer Commission Panel of Inquiry on the 31 May 2010 Flotilla Incident stated that "The The loss of life and injuries resulting from the use of force by Israeli forces during the take-over of the Mavi Marmara was unacceptable. " It also found that the Israeli interception and attack was outside the declared blockade zone.
The report in general declared a blockade of weapons as legal, but not a care blanche blockade of humanitarian and other supplies.
Interpretation of International Law and ICJ decisions have evolved since, and declare Israel's occupation of Palestine illegal and this would also include the legal coastal waters of Palestine.
How many times will major media read Israel's statements, which have been shown to be fraught with lies and mistruths without questioning the statements or pointing out contradictions of the past, such as the murder of Red 'Crescent and UN workers? Media are enabling the genocide by not putting such forward and by creating a false balance between Israel's countless violations of international law which dwarf violations by Hamas or other Palestinian factions. "Both sides are accusing each other of violating the ceasefire" , when all know that Israel is the major violator.
