The Omani readout is out, and it confirms Muscat is standing firm with Iran on the Strait despite Trump's threat to "blow them up."
Omani FM Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and Iran's Araghchi "reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and its security through the Strait of Hormuz in accordance with their sovereign responsibilities over their territorial waters."
"Sovereign responsibilities over their territorial waters" is the key phrase.
Oman is publicly asserting that the Strait runs through its waters and Iran's, not international waters as Trump claimed when he threatened to bomb them.
That's a direct legal rebuttal delivered in the most diplomatic language possible.
Just days ago Trump said Oman would "behave like everybody else or we'll have to blow them up."
Tonight Oman responded by reaffirming joint stewardship of the Strait with Iran and citing international law.
No country that feels genuinely threatened answers a bombing threat by tightening coordination with the target.
Oman has been the quiet broker of this entire conflict, hosting the original nuclear talks and mediating for years.
Trump threatened the one neutral party everyone trusted.
And Oman calmly reminded the world whose waters the ships actually sail through.
