They keep talking about “rules,” “international law,” and “no tolls” only when it benefits them. When it doesn’t, they bomb, sanction, and blockade without any shame.

This is pure desperation dressed up as authority. The US Secretary of the Treasury is out here threatening and dictating terms about the Strait of Hormuz, acting like America still has the power to decide what Iran can or cannot do in its own waters. They are trying to sound strong, but the reality is the opposite. America no longer has the military or economic dominance it once had. After failing to break Iran through direct aggression and blockade, they are now reduced to making loud statements through the Treasury Department basically economic threats and sanctions because they know they can’t win on the battlefield anymore. This is the empire in decline. They keep talking about “rules,” “international law,” and “no tolls” only when it benefits them. When it doesn’t, they bomb, sanction, and blockade without any shame. The fact that the Treasury Secretary is now involved in what should be a military/diplomatic issue shows how weak their position has become. They are using financial threats because military ones have lost their edge. This is not strength. This is the loud barking of a wounded animal that can no longer bite the way it used to.
