🇮🇱 Ben-Gvir posting that infamous video of Sumud flotilla members being roughed up and humiliated by Israeli guards was a massive own-goal. The arrests happened in international waters, outside any single country’s jurisdiction, so the usual rules" don’t fully apply." Instead, the world now has clear visual evidence of mistreatment that looks a lot like torture. And here’s where it gets worse for Israel on paper: They signed the 1984 UN Convention Against Torture in 1986 and fully ratified it in 1991. That one’s binding. On top of that, critics are now stacking two more alleged violations: - The 1907 Hague Convention III (which Israel ratified), for launching strikes on Iran without a formal declaration of war or ultimatum. - Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions (signed but not ratified), claiming the assassinations of Iranian and Hamas figures during supposed “negotiations” counts as perfidy (the war-crime version of faking a truce to kill). The video turned a potential gray-area defense into a very public, very graphic headache. Sometimes the loudest guy in the room isn’t helping the team. Source: Times of Israel

🇪🇺🇮🇱 Ben Gvir posted the footage himself. Europe responded accordingly. Italy formally requested EU sanctions after he published video of detained flotilla activists kneeling, hands tied, foreheads to the ground. Italy called it "harassment and humiliation." Meloni demanded x.com/MarioNawfal/st…
