1948: Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion, leader of Mapai, Israel's "left-wing" political party, orchestrated the ethnic cleansing of ~750,000 Palestinians, dozens of massacres, dozens of rapes & the destruction of 500 Palestinian villages.

1956: Same “left-wing” Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion invaded & occupied Gaza & Sinai in a war of aggression. Carried out multiple massacres of hundreds of unarmed Palestinians in Rafah & Khan Younis.

1967: Israel’s “left-wing” Labor Prime Minister Levi Eshkol invaded & occupied the Sinai, Gaza, West Bank & Golan, expelled hundreds of thousands of Palestinians & Syrians from their homes in 1967, expelled another 70,000 in 1968 and then low thousands 1969, and annexed huge swaths of Palestine from 1967-9.

1970s: Israeli “left-wing” Prime Minister Golda Meir supported settlement expansion, poisoned Palestinian wells to push them off their land; her government also threatened use of nukes if the US did not provide massive arms airlift during the Oct. 1973 War (1, 2).

1976: “Left-wing” Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin believed Israel should build settlements to control land in sparsely populated areas. He supported settlement in “security areas”, the Jordan Valley & Jerusalem

1970s-80s: Israeli “left-wing” leader Shimon Peres supported illegal colonization of the West Bank, believing they provided added security. 1992: “left-wing” Yitzhak Rabin’s election campaign promise was to “keep Gaza out of Tel Aviv.” He also said “I would like to see Gaza drown in the sea.”

1995: “Left-wing” Yitzhak Rabin’s last speech in the Knesset before he was assassinated: “We would like this to be an entity which is less than a state.”

2008-9: Israel’s “left-wing” Prime Minister Ehud Olmert launched the 2008-9 War on Gaza, killing more than 1,100 people. The UN-issued Goldstone report, the Israeli objective was to “punish, humiliate & terrorize a civilian population.” The report investigated 11 incidents in which the Israeli military launched attacks on civilians with lethal outcomes. In 10 of the 11 cases, no justifiable military objective was identified

2012: During the Nov. 2012 War on Gaza, the “center-left” Kadima activist Gilad Sharon called on the army to “flatten all of Gaza.” “The desire to prevent harm to innocent civilians in Gaza”, he wrote, “will ultimately lead to harming the truly innocent: the residents of southern Israel. The residents of Gaza are not innocent. They elected Hamas… they chose this freely and must live with the consequences.”

2019-2021: Benny Gantz: “center-left” Blue and White party, bragged about sending “Gaza sent back to Stone Age” in 2014; he declared 6 Palestinian human rights organizations “terrorist organizations” in 2021.

2023: Yair Golan “far-left” (Meretz) said: “until the captives are released... you can die from starvation. It’s totally legitimate.”

2023: Isaac Herzog “left-wing” (Labor) said: “an entire nation out there that is responsible. This rhetoric about civilians not aware, not involved — it’s not true.” Herzog has done a remarkably good job of trying to scrub this quote from the internet. Insanely difficult to find. Someone should write about this.

2023: Meirav Ben-Ari "center-left" (Yesh Atid) said: "The children in Gaza brought it upon themselves."

2023-present: Nearly all Israeli left-wing leaders supported the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the ongoing annexation of the West Bank, and the ongoing wars of aggression or occupations in Syria, Lebanon and Iran.
