Even Israeli media is now saying the quiet part out loud: there is no military solution to Hezbollah.
A senior Israeli official tells Israel Hayom that the ceasefire is not a concession, but a necessity. The IDF can strike, degrade & assassinate, but it cannot eliminate Hezbollah’s missile & rocket capabilities. Doing so would require a massive ground offensive that an already overstretched army simply cannot sustain. At the same time, the gap between Israel’s rhetoric & reality is widening. Hezbollah has shown greater resilience than expected, continuing to fire & test limits even under a ceasefire. Israeli threats ring increasingly hollow, while political constraints, including pressure from Washington, shape the battlefield.
After weeks of bombardment & ground operations, even Israel’s own right-wing press concedes the reality: Hezbollah remains intact, the north remains vulnerable, & renewed fighting offers little strategic gain. Even full security in the north cannot be guaranteed.
Israel is being forced to confront a reality it cannot impose through force: Hezbollah remains a durable, operational adversary that cannot be eliminated militarily.
