In Gaza, Israel had a program called "where's daddy?" where it systematically bombed to death its targets specifically while they were at home with their families. This was most commonly used to target people the IDF thought were low-level combatants, but was also used to target civilians (e.g. pro-Hamas journalists). In either case, entire families were systematically massacred to get a target of marginal or zero military value.
