It's a devastating speech against police state authoritarianism, including restrictions on the right to protest, which makes comparisons to Nazis.

* Anthony Albanese's 27 March 2003 speech against John Howard's Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Legislation Amendments (Terrorism) Bill 2003. Today, Albanese is pushing through Parliament the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Amendment Bill 2025 No 2 which will repeal the sunset clause Labor insisted on in 2003 so that these secret police powers would be temporary, and make them permanent.
