Why you can recite the names of presidents,
but not the countries they destroyed.
Why you know the words "Cold War,"
but not "Operation Condor," "Phoenix Program," or "SAVAK."
Ignorance at this level is not an accident.
It is a feature.
If your schooling left you proud of an empire
and ignorant of its victims,
that was not education.
That was onboarding.
