What you are calling "objective history" is just the victor's curriculum written in your accent.
You did not sit alone in a library and read every archive on earth.
You were handed a syllabus.
You learned the word "gulag."
Did they give you the word "plantation" with the same emotional charge?
You learned "Cheka" and "NKVD."
Did they teach you "CIA", "School of the Americas", "Phoenix Program" as symbols of terror in the same way?
You learned to picture Mao when you hear "mass death."
Did they sit you down with the numbers for the Atlantic slave trade, the Congo rubber terror, the Bengal famines under the Raj, the genocide of Indigenous nations from Wounded Knee to the Amazon?
You say "Islam was born in imperialism."
Christianity did its empire on four continents, with crosses on flags and priests blessing rifles.
Did your "objective history" give that the same metaphysical stain?
You list the Red Guards and the Cultural Revolution.
Did your courses linger on Indonesia 1965, when Western-backed generals and militias butchered up to a million suspected leftists and Muslims, then called it a "victory for freedom"?
Did they walk you through how many elected governments were overthrown for being too socialist, too independent, too unwilling to hand their resources to the "free world"?
You say you developed a "healthy skepticism" of NATO and Wall Street.
But somehow that skepticism always lands in the same place:
Our crimes are excesses.
Their crimes are essence.
When their system kills, it proves their ideology is evil.
When your system kills, it proves you are "flawed but necessary."
When their dead appear, it is their nature on trial.
When your sanctions starve millions, it is "policy."
You are not on "the right side of history."
You are on the side that wrote your history textbook.
You were taught which corpses count as warnings about systems and which corpses are just "context."
Until you can say "King Leopold" and "Kissinger" with the same disgust you reserve for Stalin and Mao,
Until you can put the slave ship and the gulag in the same moral frame,
You are not doing "your own research."
You are reciting a filtered horror catalogue that teaches you to fear anyone who broke the West's order more than the order that broke the world.
