Thank God so many Americans flunked geography, or they'd remember that Alaska and Russia are already so close they can practically borrow a cup of sugar across the Bering Strait. The Diomede Islands are literally 2.4 miles apart - on a clear day, a Russian could wave at an American and yell, "Turn down that country music!"
