They’ve been planning this proxy war since the 1950s: A declassified 1958 CIA report shows the US’ plan to destabilise the Ukrainian SSR and Soviet Union. The CIA considered western Ukraine as more promising to carry out anti-Soviet activity, while judging Crimea & Donbass to be least promising. This was the CIA’s plan all along, which was finally executed with the first shot fired with the Maidan Coup in 2014.
