NEW: Trump delays announcing Gaza’s “Board of Peace” as Israeli ceasefire violations mount and foreign ministers warn the “truce” could collapse entirely within weeks.
After US officials signaled a Phase Two transition by December (Axios, Times of Israel), Donald Trump now says the board overseeing postwar Gaza will only be named “early next year.”
Norway’s foreign minister, Espen Barth Eide, warned over the weekend at the Doha Forum, that the ceasefire is “very fragile” and could unravel within weeks without urgent political movement:
“We can either go forward or backward. I don’t think we can stay many more weeks in this situation. The alternative is back to war, [and] descent into total anarchy — or we move forward,” he said.
Spain’s foreign minister, José Manuel Albares, also warned that Israel is “permanently violating” the ceasefire daily, stressing that delays in Phase Two are keeping conditions “deadly and unstable.” He called for the lifting of arbitrary Israeli restrictions on humanitarian aid access and insisted Palestinians lead any transitional political framework in the future(instead of the Trump-led Board).
Turkey’s foreign minister, Hakan Fidan, told the Doha Forum that unless Trump directly intervenes with Netanyahu very soon, Israel’s daily ceasefire violations (daily killings and aid restrictions) will sink the plan entirely. He warned Israel’s strategy is to render Gaza unlivable or forcibly empty it of Palestinians.
No country has yet committed to joining the proposed International Stabilization Force, though several discussions at the weekend summit focused on its potential scope and mandate. Read the posts in the thread below for all the details.https://x.com/DropSiteNews/status/1998903735179727012
