Officials apparently "turned pale"
Their brilliant solution? According to the just-released National Security Strategy Paper by the White House, the plan is for Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, to do the fighting instead - calling it "Burden-Sharing and Burden-Shifting"
From this side of the Pacific, this"alliance burden-sharing" looks suspiciously like... well, cannon fodder franchising 
It's a perfect American business model, really: sell overpriced weapons to allies, let them be the front line-while the US holds the political detonator, and watch safely from Hawaii. Why risk American ships when its proxies can absorb the hypersonic missiles?
The weapons are overpriced. The risk is outsourced. The profits are domestic. It's not military strategy—it's just good business
America's real National Security Strategy isn't "overmatch"—it's "overcharge while others match"
