The picture is now clear. The purpose was to lay the groundwork for a new narrative against Iran - this time centered on violent antisemitism - so it could be quickly activated to legitimize further aggression.

Months before the Sydney attack, Australia moved unexpectedly and aggressively against Iran, without any sound justification. It expelled Iran’s ambassador and senior diplomats, suspended operations at its embassy in Tehran, and then fast-tracked legal changes that culminated in the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. These steps were taken in clear coordination with Israel. Israel, in fact, publicly praised Australia after each hostile move, raising the question: if these measures were truly driven by Australia’s own security assessments, why was Israel so eager to applaud them? The picture is now clear. The purpose was to lay the groundwork for a new narrative against Iran - this time centered on violent antisemitism - so it could be quickly activated to legitimize further aggression. Australia would be well advised not to entangle itself in a conflict that does not concern it and offers no benefit to its security or interests.
